Never saw this before, but there are NO MacBook Pro 15" units on the refurbished site for sale. What's up?

Looking at the refurb site currently there are 4 15 inch MBP's avaialable. It is strange that there were none earlier.

Why is this news? They move stock all the time!

True that.

Refurb stock rotates in and out regularly, even after/before/around when a new model is released. Think about that - refurb wannabe's have a year from purchase to return to apple to be restored, so using their absence as a bellwether for new releases only works going back in time.

That's the old MBP's... I don't know... if they stopped making the current MBP's, and they sold out of the refurb versions of them, that might suggest that a new version is coming out, and that they expect to put the current versions up as refurbs. Maybe?

Think about this logically. Why on earth would a cessation of new production create an drop in refurb availability? The two are completely unrelated product streams.

They're going to put up new versions as refurbs? No, they'll sell them as new, and over time as they get bad machines returned, they'll refurb those and sell them. Meanwhile, they'll continue selling the current machines as long as they're being returned.

you know i'm not saying it has any relevance for a imminent update but the 15inch refurbs are out again right now.

(just so you know I noticed this before finding this thread) and I thought it was a bit odd.

oh well

Maybe they are just updating everything. I really think Apple should redesign the Refurb store, needs to look more friendly.

You dont know how it works...being a newbie. Right before a new version of something comes out, the stock of it in the refurb store plummets. I think this is a good sign...but nothing will happen until after the iPhone launch.

Geez - I guess I didn't know I was so dumb?

Oops - maybe not too dumb, they're out again...hmmmmmm

Anyway, I know stock changes constantly (one day they have Black Macs in 2.4ghz, the next day none) but never saw a complete absence before. I guess it could be just an instant fluke that I climbed on at the moment they were ding an update, but doubtful. Maybe refurbs and refreshes have nothing in common, but if Apple intends to hit the "back to school season" with a refresh time is running out...or are they using back to school to clean out the inventory for Christmas newbies? ;)
