No 3g Service in Atlanta??

I checked the map before I bought my new iPhone 3g, but when I got home, I'm stuck on the Edge Network. According to the map, Im surrounded by 3G Goodness.. Do I need to turn on 3G? What the heck is going on here?

Edit - Checked and 3G is activated on the phone.
