Wow, that does suck. Hard. They should at least have a system where you have to have it certified by Apple but no 3rd party support period? I don't know if Apple would be that stupid.

UI is so amazing looking but is crippled.
Apple is turning to be microsofts little brother with all this 1st party
drm only crap. Sad such an amazing company would stoop so low to just middle finger its followers and developers.
Look at the apple Tv what a waste of a great idea. An itunes extender that will only allow files within itunes to play? man at leats microsoft and their whole emdia center can stream anything to its extenders.
