No 5 figure swipe in newsstand

Can't close the app with gesture unless you are in a magazine.

Seem weird to anyone else?

I have an iPhone habit of double clicking the home button to end any program and swiping up to end the app and get to home screen with no apps running.
Has anyone tried doing this in newsstand?
All I get is newsstand and no home screen after swiping..very strange

The inability to close Newsstand with a five-finger swipe has been driving me crazy. Glad to hear it's not just me.

Yes -- I notice that they treat Newsstand as part of the Springboard, as it has been in iOS 6, even though it behaves like an app now.

I agree; very bizarre.

I wonder what the reasoning is? Why not make it similar to iBooks?
