I got a problem with shut down my mac mini OS X Yosemite 10.10.1. When I use a standard left corner shut down function everything seems ok until black screen and small process circle icon appear. After 30 min. computer is not turn off, white led still lights on mac. I have to do a hard restart. I try a few times and still same. Any idea how to fix it and make a proper shut down.
Any ideas would be appreciated.

Which year Mini is this? Do you have anything plugged into the ports (Firewire, USB or Thunderbolt)?

More complete hardware/software specs.
Is this a new MM ? If older, did you upgrade from Mavericks or install fresh or something else ?

I'll take a wild guess and say you've upgraded and some rogue program that ran well under your previous OS does not play well with Yosemite.

It's still too new and has lots of issues. Maybe you should downgrade and wait til Apple's figured this out.
