I bought two Iphone 4s over the weekend: one for the gf, and one for myself. My carrier is Vodafone Spain. Both phones were updated to 4.0.2 first thing when connecting to Itunes. At home both connect to the wifi network, but none connected to the 3G network while away from home or when wifi was turned off at home. When trying to access the Internet, Safari says there's no Internet connection. No 3G icon is shown on the phone.

I made a reset of the Network settings on my phone, and by chance it now connects fine to the Vodafone 3G network and I can access the Internet properly off the 3G nw. However, my gf's phone does not succeed to connect to the 3G network even after resetting. There is only voice, SMS, and wifi access for Internet.

We do not have the option of amending the APN settings on our phones, the button is not shown. (Although I swear I had the option when I just initiated the phone after buying it, on the original OS before updating.)

Vodafone Customer Care has no clue.

Frustrating. Apple???
