In a strange twist i've ended up with having no Administrators on my machine, is there any way i can fix this? i dont want to do another re-install of OSX :(

try

going into the Users spot on the Systems Preferences. check off someone as administrator. When it asks for a password, use the Name of the person, and password that was used to originally set up the computer. Hopefully the root user that set up the computer still works.

How i did it:

Boot into single user mode, edit /etc/sudoers and added my short login name:

nik_doof ALL=(ALL) ... or whatever it was

Reboot, then use sudo nicl at the term level to append my username to /groups/admin users

Wolla, quite simple.

Oh yah, the Active Directory plugin for panther has a nasty tendancy to remove admin rights from users.
