No advanced voice for reading text?

Is it just me or is it not possible to have the lovely advanced voice to read text messages/web pages?

Doesn't seem possible to me either. I would really love to see this as the possibility of DIY audio books (reading text from epubs, pdfs, etc.) really excites me. It's not the best storyteller at the moment...
