I absentmindedly accepted the prompted Apple Software update around x-mas 2008 on my MacBook configured with a dual boot option into Windows XP using Bootcamp.

After that, my Airport ceased to work. It would be indicated in System Preferences initially, but was listed as not available.

In Windows, I had the "wireless icon" for a while, it didn't work, and after a while it disappeared.

Now I've finally had time to backup, reformat and re-install into a fresh system. Dang, still no airport, and now it's not even listed.

Am I alone on this? Can it be a firmware issue at all, or was that just a co-incidence (I don't really believe in co-incidences...)? Or should I just bite the bullet and send my laptop to Apple and part with it for several months (and in the meantime go back to my IBM T42 Stinkpad :)
