For some reason I have no audio when playing videos or audio though a web browser tried safari, firefox, camino using video.google.com as a test any suggestions?

I have a separate account and tried to use that account but that account has no sound. iTunes still plays audio so does quicktime apple.com/quicktime/trailers still work but they all open in quicktime anyway.

Aren't streamed Google Videos, Flash? If you have Garageband open it up once. There's also a solution via Audio MIDI Setup.

I had an issue with Flash videos and WMP that crippled all of my browsers.

same thing happened to me today...
all my FLASH have no sound... i have no clue why...
might be the flash 8.0 i recently updated? ive upgraded to 8.0 like 2,3 days ago, and everything seems to run fine at the time right after i upgraded...
im confused....
its liike 1 hr ago everything was still fine, and now all the sudden no sound.. i restart the computer twice, and no changes.... and there are no any (no response) in my activity monitor...so i assume all my program seems to run fine...

Calm down. There's no need to make 3 posts one after the other one. Allow some time for people to reply please. :)

Did you tried what Eidorian suggested?
If you have GarageBand, open it and close it. If you don't have GarageBand, go to your utilities folder and open "Audio MIDI Setup." Set the Audio Output format to 44100.0 Hz.

what the? I have been having this problem forever and just opened/closed garage band and it's fixed. Doesnt make any sense to me but I'm happy now so THANKS!

Anyone have any idea why this happens? ha

I believe that it is because Garageband re-initialises the CoreAudio engine which handles a lot of the sound in OSX, so if it has gone screwy for whatever reason this should sort it out.
