Hey all,

I've recently (today) just lost all audio on my 2012 iMac.

I get no sound in either OS X or my Windows Boot Camp partition, not even a start up chime.

I've checked the following:

  1. Volume Levels/Mute
  2. Rebooting
  3. Disk Permissions
  4. Hardware Diagnostics (D on bootup - all report clear)
  5. SMC has been reset
  6. PRAM Zapped
  7. External Speakers tried - also nothing

I think I'm due a trip to the nice people at Apple, but I wondered if anyone had any great ideas before I take her in :) Thoughts greatly appreciated in case I've missed something.

Go to the folder /Application/Utilities/ and launch the program "Audio MIDI Setup" and in the 'Output' tab 'Source' 44100 Hz and tweak the settings until you get sounds. See if that helps, Good Luck.
