No audio on Mac Pro 2006 + El Capitan (Pikes v14)

I just used Pike's script to install El Capitan 10.11.6 on my 2006 Mac Pro. Everything looks like it works except audio—the audio icon is greyed out in the menubar. Any ideas on how to fix this? (I've made sure Internal Speakers is selected)

32 GB RAM
x2 3.0 Dual Core Xeon chips
Radeon HD 4870
 
download the kext edit application find the HDA audio kext from the installer and add it with kext edit should fix your issue
