I recently switched out my MBP for a rMP, primarily for portability. I have a 30" Dell 3008wfp monitor. I cannot get the resolution to clear up when using the USB-C to HDMI adaptor. I had a similar problem with my MBP that I resolved by using a dual-link DVI-D cable from my Thunderbolt docking station.

The only thing I have found to get the hi-res video with the Macbook is connecting it with Google's USB-C to Displayport cable. Video works great, however, no audio over the monitor's speakers. In the system properties sound, it isn't showing anything other than the internal speakers.

I thought that audio could pass thru the displayport just like an HDMI. Is there some other configuration that anyone knows of that could get the audio working?

Try turning mirroring on or off and see if either mode has any effect also try re-start whilst connected to see if the option to external speakers appears
