When I encode video with iDVD the finished movie does not have any audio.

The audio i MPEG layer 3

It plays ok with QuickTime, and even when previewing the movie in iDVD it plays fine with audio. but when burnt to DVD it looses it.

I know it mentions MPEG in iDVD help not supported, but no mention to layer 3.

However, if this *was* unsupported, i would think I wouldn't get audio in the preview either, as iDVD uses QuickTime components, yet a get audio.

Any one know why... ? Thing of using Toast otherwise.

Try transcoding the audio to an uncompressed format like .wav or .aiff or use MPEG Streamclip to transcode the video/audio to a .mov (QuickTime - CMD+E) using Apple Intermediate Codec (AIC) as video codec (Compressor) and Uncompressed as audio codec (Sound) and then create a DVD again with the resulting file.

Toast

Toast worked anyway..

Seems i need to experiment more with how mpeg steam clip works *grins*
