Apple doesn't have an obligation to give you anything for free but they do anyway. Buy from the HE store and get your warranty extended to three years for absolutely nothing.

No, it will probably start next week!

At least in Germany, the official Apple Back to School Promo will most likely start next monday or tuesday on a site called Unimall (www.unimall.de). Over the past few years, they always had the official bts promo for Apple, and as far as I can remember, it always started together with the official UK bts promo!
