I was so excited to upgrade to 4.1 for the Bluetooth fix...this morning I called my dad and he said he could hear a terrible echo of him self on his end. It sounded like crap on my end too. Then I disconnected the headset to use the iPhone 4 itself and it sounded crystal clear.

I have a blueant q1 and an ip4 on 4.1

Any suggestions here guys...should I do a complete restore again?

Is anyone else noticing this aswell?

did you set up as a new phone?
also try deleting the device all together and repairing it. 4.1 definitely fixed my bluetooth issues with my motorola.

What the heck does tray deleting mean?

I set up as a new phone...I'm wondering if this has something to do with the fact I used tinyumbrella to bypass updating my baseband. Does the Bluetooth fix come via the new baseband?

typo for try.

yes, unpair it, then repair it. You pose a good question but AFAIK the bluetooth issue was regarding noise cancellation which is not in the BB.

did you get it to work?

I love how when there is an issue with X device, it's always the iPhones fault! I have several BT devices and not one issue with any.
Have you updated the firmware for your q1? Have you tried a different device?

My Bluetooth is still broken after 4.1. After I turn off my car stereo and turn it back on again, the iPhone's Bluetooth audio won't reconnect to my stereo. Not only that but in order for the iPhone to see my stereo again, I have to delete the phone from it and re-pair it.

So I basically can't use the Bluetooth audio streaming feature.

I'm still on 4.0.1

My bluetooth seems better than when I first got the phone in June, an Apple rep said to leave it on 3G which I've done.

YMMV

Thanks for the replies everyone...

Yes I've tried repairing it...even deleting the profile completely.

I'm on the most current blueant firmware.

Still the same issues...actually this morning it sounded even worse.

Any more suggestions guys?

I'm going to reinstall the blueant firmware from new and see what happens.

I use a Jabra Cruiser with my iP4 and it sounds great considering its a speakerphone.

You sure the headset isn't the problem?

This.

My girlfriend had one that sounded like she was in the bathroom all the time. She blamed it on the phone because she had replaced the headset twice. Of course, when she replaced it, she replaced it with the same brand and model. As soon as she tried a different model, it sounded perfect.

Hmmm interesting....I've always tried the same headset. I love the q1 from blueant.

Any thoughts on a comparable product.
