Posting on behalf of my husband who has no data to be able to do so.

My husband is currently underway on a boat so his phone is a necessary lifeline. He has an 8Plus with iOS 14.

He had documents in his email he needed to print so he connected to the boat’s wireless printer via WiFi.

After he did that, he noticed that nothing that uses data (apps won’t open or load- just white screens, iMessages won’t send) work.

Any app he tries to open stays in a loop of white screens and spinning loading wheels.

He has tried 3 hard resets.
Resetting network settings.
Toggling Airplane Mode on then off.
Just powering the phone off and then on again.
He made sure Data Roaming is on.
Cellular data has remained on.

He can’t figure out what happened after connecting to that WiFi printer that made his data stop working.

It’s almost like a setting would be off/on that’s preventing it but cannot figure this out.

When your husband reset network settings did that mean his phone forgot the WiFi printer network?

That's the only thing I can think of - that his phone is hanging on to a WiFi network that has no connection to the internet.
