no chapters in ipad video?

I tried some searching but keep coming up with stuff on how to make chapters in general.

My problem is that I've converted some videos from vobs to mp4's with chapter makers. They work fine in QT, iTunes, and my iPhone 3G. but the ipad videos app doesn't show that there any any chapters. Do I have to do something special for the ipad?

Video files that I converted from DVDs using RipIt and Handbrake have chapters that show up in iTunes on the Mac and through the video application on the iPad.

iMovie on the Mac has a chapter markers option, which I've used, and they work on the iPad when you hit the >> arrows, it goes to the next chapter.

I've been using handbrake. I just checked with a movie I converted the same way, movie chapters show up, but I noticed there's no shortcut on the UI when the video is playing.

I can't get any TV Shows chapters to work on the ipad.
