There are tons of Clipboard Managers available for the Mac (though not built-in). I've been using CopyLess for years and found it quite nice (and free).
I've never needed a clipboard manager.
For security & privacy reasons, a “clean clipboard after” option would be nice in future macOS versions.

Paid ones can have additional features which you might find worthwhile. I use iClip http://www.iclipapp.com/.
the one in finder is a bit limited and not really a manager. Copy clip is ok, but I will have a look at the others thanks
I used to think I had no use for one, but I tried one called Ditto on windows and I change my mind, A option to clear the clipboard on shutdown is a good idea.
No doubt, I have spent far too much at the moment, with buyinbg this mac and other stuff, over £1,500. But at some point in the future I may have a look at paid ones Cheers.

ClipMenu was ideal. I loved that program and I used it a lot. Its repacement, Clipy, doesn't work. I have found nothing to rival ClipMenu. A huge loss.
I've tried with ClipMenu_0.4.3.dmg from https://github.com/patkujawa-wf/ClipMenuScripts
An updated fork of the original - ClipMenu-1.0.0a1.dmg https://github.com/nishanthb/ClipMenu but I don't know if it has everything you are looking for.
Unfortunately, ClipMenu doesn't seem to work anymore in Sonoma. The menu keeps flashing and it's difficult to select anything. Is there any alternatives?
I've been on the hunt for a replacement for ClipMenu ever since upgrading to Sonoma myself. All the better ones are subscription based and do way more than I want and the purchasable ones don't work the way I want.
I finally found something perfect. It's almost an exact clone of ClipMenu. It's Clipy.

AFAICS none of the posts in the thread so far mention iCloud syncing between devices, which is my main use. I have tried several which claim this but have found them unreliable...too often it just doesn't sync. Currently using Paste which is the best so far but expensive.
