No contacts, No contacts in app layout

I am not only missing my contacts names when they text or call, but also the contacts in my app layout is missing entirely. I have tried Reset Sync Data, and restarting both devices. Am I looking at a wipe?? If I am missing the thread for this, please point me in that direction. Thnaks!
