Since iOS 12 I have been having odd issues where it seems no data is going through any lightning cable. When I plug into my computer it charges but no data. If I plug into my car which has car play just charges. I have to reboot my phone then it seems to work. It doesn’t seem like any time or anything is really related. I can plug it in. It works the 10 minutes later it doesn’t. I checked the setting under passcode and USB Accesories and that’s off. Anything else to check? Hi

OS up to date? iTunes up to date? Ignoring the iTunes update required messages?
And after that, if using older Lighting cables, have seen where they are failing. Or have been mistreated. Imo, Apple cables are fairly sensitive and cause issues. Try a rarely/never used cable to see if things cleared up.
