Today I was installing windows xp on my new imac. I didn't read the boot camp instructions, thinking everything would be easy and self explanatory. However, I didn't know that xp had to have service pack 2. I think I overwrote osx on my computer. When I put in the install disc, it doesn't have a destination volume to install osx. Can anyone please help?

I've been looking around and I think I should either repartition or erase the hdd. Does this sound right? I don't want to erase my whole computer if I don't have to.

So you didn't install Windows? You should be able to hold down the option key during boot up to select your OS X partition.
