ok so i had a 4s.. and life was good.. got an android phone (dont ask LOL).. synced contacts on my MBP from icloud to google (under prefs in contact app).. then returning the android.. and tried to unsync from google and back to icloud.. in doing so two problems arose..

got duplicates in the contacts app on MBP..
and in the menu bar upper right the sync circle says no devices syncing..

i want to sync the 4s to the icloud to the MBP..

The part where it says "no devices syncing" is accurate. You're using iCloud now--not iSync. If you have Google syncing configured, it should change, but so long as you only have iCloud configured, it'll say that.

Address Book has a way to merge duplicates, but before that, you'll want to back up your database, just in case. I hear Google's method of merging duplicates is smarter, but I've not tried it.
