When I turn my computer on, the display is blank but I know the computer is running fine. I can connect via file share and now Screen Sharing. Bad graphic card? Below is the story of what has happened so far. Any help would be appreciated.
Over the weekend I decided to upgrade to Snow Leopard because I'm getting to a point where my programs require a minimum of Snow Leopard. I then installed the next update that showed up in "Software Update". All weekend the computer worked fine. I took the computer back to work on Monday and it still worked, however my printer did not. It said I needed to update again via Software update so I did which was basically just a security update in there. Upon restart, my computer turned on but the display was black.
I panicked and didn't know what to do. Since then, I have been able to access the files through file sharing and knew the computer was fine, but no display. I wanted to connect through screen sharing but didn't have it enabled. So I figured out a way to enable it and can now see it on my Macbook Pro. Yay! However, looking at the Graphic/Display section in System Profiler, it is blank. I've attached a picture of it below.
My question is, does this mean that my graphics card is dead and in need of replacing? Was this the cause of some update? What card should I upgrade to? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
