I once had to remove the screen from my iPhone 3G to fix a stuck home button. After I put it all together again I no longer had any sound from the ear speaker. I have now replaced the actual speaker and tried the stuck headset/headphone fix and I still have no sound. It is not very fun to have a public conversation with everyone around me anytime someone calls. If anyone knows of any tips or help it would be greatly appreciated. iPhone is jailbroken and running 3.1.2.

You can test the resistance on the ribbon cable if you know what you are doing. It's about 27 Ohms on the last two contacts on the ribbon copper side up. I always check it when I reassemble a phone. I bet you have broken the ribbon - very delicate.
