No Earpiece/Handset Speaker Sound After Speakerphone

Is there a solution for this?

I have a jailbroken unlocked 2g 8gb iPhone with 3.0 update. If I begin a call in speakerphone mode and then switch to the bulit-in earpiece speaker while in the call, I get no sound out of the earpiece speaker until I change the volume level (when in earpiece mode) either up or down. It doesn't happen every time, but it happens frequently and randomly.
