As I was looking at the new Macbook Pros and the lonely non-retina pro, I was left wondering why hasn't Apple shown any love for the non-retina?

The tech is 3.5 years old and can't keep up with the newer rMBPs that have faster hardware. I know Apple will phase out the older MBP which would be a shame since it some fight left even though it has older Intel tech.

Any thoughts why they haven't upgraded the older tech?

Not point to it at all. In fact I'm surprised they actually still have it on the store. Will soon to be removed I'm sure.

Because Apple is moving away from non-retina models and they're just letting what's out there whither on the vine. I don't see any reason why apple would update the non-retina models. The future is retina, pure and simple :)

I really wouldn't be surprised if it goes bye bye at the next refresh (probably when OS X 10.11 is released - probably October)
