So I was just surfin apple maps, checkin some places out. Well I decided to zoom all the way out so I could see the whole world. Well I've never seen this before iOS 7 (correct me if I'm wrong :D -- I kno someone will!)... But anyway, it shows which areas of the world are dark (night time) or light (still day time). It also shows which areas at night have high populations due to the density of light. But ya this I'd have to say is pretty damn cool! image.jpg

Sir you are late

Lol for sure! I had a feeling I probably was, but since I just found it and hadn't seen it on here before I thought if throw it out there :) it's still hella cool tho I must say

Someone posted this. It's a very nice detail :)

but you can't make the world spin around all crazy like in earth. so what's the point.

With the new ultra high resolution micro-retina screen coming in the 5S, you will actually be able to discern individual people walking around in that globe view.

Of course not, because the sun is setting ;)

I don't get it.

edit: Oh wait now I do. Lol, I wasn't referring to the picture in the OP but the Earth's current rotation as of my post after I'd just checked out this feature. I guess it's a bit of an odd thing to say but it was kind of a reference to the apple announcement that's happening this morning in California. It wasn't quite morning yet, but soon it would be, and the announcement would come, etc. etc. :)

The Earth spins counterclockwise, so the Earth's shadow would be moving over California. Therefore, the sun is setting in the image.
Yeah I know. I was talking about at the time of my post. It was around 5:45am in California, I think. (1:44pm in UK). Sorry for not making that clear.

I didn't realise the OP image was roughly the inverse of what I was seeing at the time I checked. I thought the post about the sun setting was some cryptic message about the sun setting on Apple as a business or something. Lol
