This is just a theory. Now that Apple has removed 3D Touch from both iPhone hardware and iOS, is it possible that the next step is getting rid of it in the next Watch model? I've noticed that several Force Touch gestures disappeared even from Watch in the latest watchOS and it would be a logical step - coherence between iOS and watchOS gestures and a possibility to make the watch thinner. What do you think?

I’m curious.. what gestures disappeared?

Force Touch and 3D Touch is really no different. The end goal is to provide a user more options. And I don’t see Apple removing Force Touch.. I argue is more vital on the Apple Watch compared to iPhone/iPad due to the smaller screen size.

I also like you to elaborate on which force touch gestures has disappeared.

I doubt force touch will disappear, because there is not much to be gained. It is just a gasket, which need to be there anyway.

3D touch hardware was much more complicated. It added an extra layer and hereby thickness to the display assembly.

3D Touch being removed from the iPhone was a cost saving measure, nothing more. Force touch on a small display like the Apple Watch is crucial, because there’s only so many ways you can shortcut something to access it due to the U.I. Apple isn’t removing Force touch on the Apple Watch, there’s no reason for them to do this.

Plus don't all of the system haptics rely on that engine?
