After exchanging for i5 2.5 Mac Mini, I'm noticing this problem with the Ram.

Second picture 25 minutes after first screen shot.
Third picture is seconds after a purge.

Well what are you running?

Your screenshots are confusing. The purge command doesn't reduce the number of page outs/ins and the amount of swap used, but in either case it appears to have done so. Are you using the purge command in the Terminal or something else?

In terminal. I understand it does not reset the page ins/outs.

It is simply to free up inactive ram therefore preventing page ins/outs.

Just as I started this reply I watched my green "free" ram on the pie graph on my dock turn to blue "inactive".

I currently have one tab open in safari, mail, iTunes, handbrake, terminal, & activity monitor running.

Actually, just had a huge melt down. Had to force quit handbrake, mail, & iTunes. Then purged in terminal again. Had over 2.5 gbs swapping.
