Every PC I have had came with a couple of simple games like Solitiare, Spider Solitaire, FreeCell. I cannot find any for my new MacBook Pro.
It's just a simple thing....... but there are moments when it's nice to have them available.
Any recommendations for finding them? (Preferably free versions -- seems silly to have to buy them)
Thanks.

Yes.

google.com
bing.com
yahoo.com

All the kids are using them.

You could try here for a start. I seem to remember there's even a Mine Sweeper clone, if you really must...

EDIT: apart from the obvious searches, you can get to that page by clicking:
:apple:>Mac OS X Software

Thank you all.

I appreciate the information. I just needed a simple mind numbing game to distract me when multitasking (like on boring phone conversations). :)
It's good to have those games back.

Solitaire XL - it's been discontinued, but it's the best computer solitaire game I've ever seen. It's fantastic, with great animations, and very minimalistic interface.

Google it - I bet it's still out there!

actually, as well know amongst some crowds, the following are present and hidden in OSX

snake, doctor, hanoi, gomoku, blackbox, mpuz, 5x5, decipher, dunnet, lm, life, morse-region, pong, solitate, tetris

open the Terminal program, type
emacs then enter
type
esc+x simultaneously
type game name then enter.

i think, though, you may find them a little basic, minesweeper looks graphically intense in comparison!

You're right. It was rather basic. But it was fun finding something hidden!
