From the time I start a run with the Nike + app until I manually view the HRM glance on the watch is saving no heart rate data.

I know it monitoring it in some way because I get credit for my run in the activity app Exercise ring. It give is credit for the whole run, but then I view the HRM glance the last reading it from before my run.

On my iPhone the health app is missing all readings during the time I am running.

Anyone have this problem or know what is going on?

If you want accurate heart rate data you need to use the native workout app.

Use Workout app, monitors pulse continuously. Else only every 10 minutes.
