My 2011 MacBook has a broken screen, I don't take it anywhere now so am happy to use it with an external monitor. What I want to know is .... If I remove the screen (there are videos out there showing how to) will the laptop itself continue to work with the external monitor? Please help before I take a gamble and end up destroying it altogether! Thanks.

Well please do not take my advice too seriously, but I would think so in mirror mode. But why would you want to take off the screen ?
