Apple has never indicated any intention in offering a pre-order for the iPad2 and quite honestly, now that it is Mar 10, what's the point?

Why no pre-order? We can speculate till the cows come home, but bottom line is that Apple decided it was either not necessary or not in their best interest to do so.
