WTF? I already own one, but am curious why Apple isn't selling an i7 option any more.

eh?

Personally, if I was in the market for an small imac, I'd wait for the 21 inch retina imac-- probably in the next month or two, but you may have your reasons

They do, you are making an error. The i7 option is only for CTO models ordered on-line, just as it always has been.

I forgot to say 27". The 21s have an i7 option, but the non-retina 27s do not...I just checked again. Also, no graphics upgrade.

My guess is that Apple will discontinue the non-retina imac 27 shortly. It hasn't been updated for some time. In a few years, the 21 imac will be all retina as well.

It looks like they are discontinuing it, I'd imagine that there'll be a 4K 21 inch as well in autumn and they'll discontinue all the non-retina imacs except the base model with the macbook air internals....

It may be much sooner.

Although the form factor may change from 21" to something slightly larger.

It depends on when retina-quality panels become available close to that size.

We may see a retina 22" iMac within the next few monts...
