Hello,

I did a clean install with OSX Lion after purchasing my MBP, and I noticed that none of the iLife apps are included: http://www.apple.com/ilife/

In the app store it says I have to purchase them, but they should have came free? I called Apple and they were no help, they said I need to reinstall the operating system but I don't want to do that I already have my stuff transferred over and he contradicted what he said earlier saying that stuff was no longer included with Lion.

Can I get those apps without having to buy them on the app store?

iLife apps are not part of the OS. The versions your Mac shipped with will be on the Restore DVD that shipped with the machine as part of the Optional/Additional Software package.

Can I still install them from the DVD even though I'm now on Lion? (The MBP came with SL).

Yes, you can install the applications without reinstalling Snow Leopard. Insert "Disk #1" or "Applications Installation DVD" that came with your computer and click on "Install Bundled Software Only"
