I just got a new iPhone 6 from Verizon today but the instant hot spot feature is not showing up on the settings menu. Since I have one of the old unlimited data plans does that mean the iOS 8 instant hot spot feature isn't available to me?

Deleted. I misunderstood. Thought it was personal hotspot through verizon, not instant hotspot for your mac.

You mac has to be a 2012 or newer model for instant hotspot to work.

When I go into the settings there isn't an option for the Instant Hotspot at all, does that mean it's not available for use with the unlimited plan?

If your plan doesn't include tethering or give you the option to pay separately for tethering then instant hotspot will not work.

Hotspot is a $30 add-on if you have an unlimited data plan.
