So, ever since the 7.1 update came out, I haven't been able to actually use all the new functions that came along with it due to the draining battery issue.

In this article are some tips and tricks (I'm sure you guys know about it) to help conserve the battery life of the iPhone. I literally did every step, what's the point of owning an iPhone if I can't have fun with the cool effects

* Then again, I'm a HUGE Apple nerd/ geek/ techy, whatever you want to call it. I could wait for the fixes in the meantime, but damn c'mon now! LOL :D

Eh, I get 16-20 hours of battery life out of my phone with most of those features turned on.

Also the tip about fully discharging the battery once a month is bogus.

Yes, minus that. I didn't do the "discharging" thing. I agree, I call bs. Wow, 16-20 hours... I'd get lucky if I have 4-5 hours.

I could get over 24hrs of standby with very minimal usage, but usually get between 4 and 6 hours with intensive use. This is with most functionality switched off.

That's sounds about right for me. I usually use it pretty hard through out the day. I just reversed everything, I now have most updates turned on. We'll see how this goes. Either way, it's whatever. Any word on 7.1.1?

7.1.1 is expected soon, but there has been no word it is actually in the pipeline.

Same for me, 6 hours if I'm lucky haha

I can get up to 9 without constant use

Impossible

You can only achieve this by playing music with the screen turned off

He obviously isn't talking about usage time. 16-20 hours on a charge doesn't mean 16-20 hours usage. For example, yesterday I got 39 hours on a charge with 7.5 hours of usage.

It's not worth talking about sleep time
it's not really sleep time either, it's total uptimte. While usage time is somewhat more important/useful, overall uptime is good information as well.
