This is weird. I just restored ios 5 beta 1 on my iphone 4 and noticed that there is no longer an ipod app on the dock. instead it's like ipod touch: a Music app on the dock and a seperate Videos apps on page 2.

That is how it is on the iPad as well. Standardization is good.

they've moved it to be like the iPod Touch and iPad, 2 seperate apps, brings unity to iOS and makes it easier for iCloud to do iTunes from the cloud.
 
Is the iPod app really this bad though? 1 button on a blank toolbar and a list? The iPad version is customized at least. The Videos.app for the iPhone in iOS5 is awful. It could really benefit from coverflow. Smaller selection, easier navigation.
 
I think it's great.
I found it a little awkward to call it "iPod."

It's like having an app on the iPod named "iPhone."
