Unfortunately it looks like there will not be an "iPod" button in the iPhone or iPad in the upcoming iOS 5. It has more convienently divided itself into tow buttons identical to the iPod touch, the "Music" and "Video" icon. i find this irritating because I liked how everything to do with itunes media was in one specific place. Any thoughts as to if it is a mistake on apples part (doubt it) because i will definitely miss that feature in my iOS device.

it is just to make it consistent across all ios platforms. The iPad already has 2 icons one for Videos and one for iPod. My guess they just changed the iPod one to say Music which will be for Music, Podcasts and Audio Books. Really not a big deal.

Perhaps they're just standardizing it? That's how it always was on the iPod Touch.

I guess it is just something new to get used to. And the only device that did this was the iPod touch, the iPhone and iPad have the simple convenient iPod icon.

I'd prefer a single iPod app than 2 apps for Music and Video. This way iOS 5 will bring fourth lots of default apps.

I am also one of those people that prefers the unified app like the iPhone has. In fact, when I jailbroke my iPod touch the first tweak I applied was combining the music and videos app.
