I was interested in upgrading until I found out its £700 just to get a jet black model.

Can't believe they have made it exclusive to the large model. The 3GS had this cost for the lower price.

Also bad enough they have increased the price by £60 in the UK compared to last year.

Yep, they announced this during the event. It is rather surprising, however, the matte black is nice as well. Also, Apple has warned about the jet black being susceptible to scratches.

It could be worse, they could be charging $100 extra for the Jet Black, like they did for the black MacBooks almost a decade ago.

Regarding the price increase, your currency is worth 25% less than it was 18 months ago. I think the anti-Brexit campaign warned that the prices of imported goods would increase...
