IMac powers on, but cursor is stuck in the upper left hand corner and won't move. Keyboard also seems disconnected. I am suspecting that the BT antenna is fried, but concerned because plugging a USB mouse into the back doesn't improve matters. The laser on the USB mouse lights, but it doesn't move the cursor. Are USB and BT connected to the point that a BT failure would also precipitate a USB failure?
Computer seems to boot normally, and starts with several programs loading. After a few minutes, screensaver starts, and there's nowhere to go from there.
All of the posts in various forums suggesting checking this or that in system preferences or keystroke combinations aren't applicable since there is no way to access system preferences and the keyboard isn't connected.
All said, is there something I am missing? I'm covered by the extended warranty compliments of my VISA card, but want to exhaust all possibilities before taking it in for repair.
Thanks!
