I'm just flawed as to why there is no way to create location based reminders on the new iPad with iOS 6. Is there something I'm overlooking?

Wifi or 3G model? There's no location based option on iOS 5 and my wifi model, I assume because there is no gps.
Was it working for you before the update?I have a 3G - 32GB one. Good to know it's working for you Pullfocus might restart and see if it magically appears otherwise I'll attempt reinstalling iOS 6

Yeah.
Go to Settings/Privacy/Location Services and see if it's enabled for Reminders. That's interesting then. Restarted and I didn't show up. I think I'll restore to factory settings tonight.

That's odd. Try a hard reset and, if that doesn't work, a restore.
Same problem here...
Siri just told me she can't create location based reminders on this device. I'm using an iPad 3.
Same Siri doesn't understand location based commands for reminders when I tried. Did a hard reset, not showing up will just restore tonight see if that works.
Location based reminders are disabled if you sync your reminders with an Exchange account. Try disabling Exchange sync for the reminders, if you have it. It should appear right back.
