No lokal LAN devices

Im trying to connect my macbook to a networking external harddrive.

But when i go to the network tab in finder, the list is blank, and theres not any single networks.

It used to work, but i dont know what happend.

DO you know the IP address of the networked device?

If so in finder press cmd K. enter the following smb://<ip address of device>.

Thats how I got mine to work.
