No longer able to answer incoming call on watch

I have a (GPS) AW4 which is paired to my IP12 mini. Just recently I don’t seem to be able to answer an incoming call on the watch. The call displays on the watch and I can press the green icon to accept the call but the phone continues to ring until I answer on the phone ?
I’ve just made a test call, started on the AW, to my home landline and everything appeared to work normally ?

Also, what I have noticed is if I select “speaker” during a call, I now have an ‘options’ list of iphone or speaker or ipad ?
My recollection is that previously it went staight to speaker.
If I reboot my iphone this option disappears and the phone works as before.

Following last week’s iOS update, yes, both have been rebooted.

Just also tested ringing my 12 from my old SE and all was normal in terms of answering on my watch.
The 12 still list alternative ‘ speaker’ options but the SE didn’t.
