Hey, Since upgrading to Leopard for some reason I don't have writing privileges to my external hard drive. I've set read and write privledges for everyone and the system, but the when I click get info it says unknown only has read privileges. I can't seem to change it even when I unlock it. Anyone know how to fix this?

What format is the HD?

If it's formated to NTFS, OS X will not be able to write to it.

Mac OS Extended, I assume HFS+ since I can write to it in a roundabout way (by adding data in a sub folder).

hey on further research, the minus button shows up on the unknown but it doesn't work. Also the + button causes it to close.
