Before when I used to adjust my speaker volume it would make a noise everytime I pressed the button which would get louder or lower in volume depending on where it was at. Now when I press the speaker buttons on the keyboard the volume goes up or down but it no longer makes that noise that was like a beep or click or however you would describe it.

Any thoughts why?

Reboot? Sometimes the audio system goes for me and it starts doing odd things. A reboot or killing the audio server in activity monitor does the trick.

Ok I'll try this. I notice in the system preference when I manually drag the volume slider with my mouse it makes the noise. Just not with the keys on the keyboard. Very weird.
