I'd like to transfer music from Mac to Samsung S5230 mobile phone, but I now realize that Samsung is a Microsoft only company. Is it really impossible to connect a Samsung phone to a Mac?

Google "Missing Sync" it is not free, but may offer the features you desire.

My daughter has the 5233W, the wi-fi equipped version of yours. She can transfer music, videos, and any other kind of file via bluetooth file transfer. Just pair it with your mac and off you go.

Bluetooth solved the problem, thanks to you daughter. It's slow, but it works for free. A little annoying that the S5230 doesn't understand m4a-files, but they can be converted into mp3.
