No Macintosh HD Partition Appearing During Clean Install...

I'm trying to do a clean install of OS X Yosemite on a mid-2013 27-inch iMac, but when I boot to the OS X Yosemite USB drive and get to the point of selecting an installation drive nothing appears (other than the USB drive itself).

When I access Disk Utility it displays the Macintosh HD, but no partitions, and all of the options are grayed out.

I'm desperate for a solution here. Can anyone help?
