I've just installed Vista 64. There is 4GB of RAM in the machine
and 2.81GB are "available" (i.e., usable). This is disappointing,
though not entirely unexpected. So, may I ask:

(1) Does Apple's motherboard/firmware implementation support
memory hoisting?

(2) Are the memory figures reported by Activity Monitor accurate?
That is, is it reporting back the amount of usable rather than the
amount of physically installed RAM?

Cheers!

Download iStat and that will tell you both. How much is used and how much is free. Speaking of free, so is iStat :)

When I add up what iStat Pro tells me, it's almost 4GB.
I'm not sure I believe that.
